A friendly listener for students to talk to
Sport plays an important part of Rimbrook's social
life. Each semester a number of sports outings and
competitions are organised. Rimbrook also encourages its
students to play representative sport for the university.

Rimbrook's
family environment fosters cross-cultural exchanges among
residents of the most varied backgrounds. It is in this
environment that National celebrations of different
countries are celebrated, with displays of music, film,
cuisine and customs. Cross-cultural language
exchange has also given rise to informal language
tutorials which give residents the opportunity of learning
the basics of other world languages. Musical & variety
shows, often organised by students, have been events at
which some wonderful hidden talents come to life, and
gives the students an opportunity to perform in a relaxed
environment.
Rimbrook organises a number of
activities throughout the year which aim at raising the
social awareness of residents and friends of the
residence. Such activities are organised regularly and
they include visiting the elderly or the sick, working in
homes for intellectually disabled adults, and working in
inner-city Soup kitchens. Rimbrook also organises annual
overseas service projects over the summer holidays. These
projects, of 2-3 weeks duration, give the students the
opportunity to work with people and cultures in the
disadvantaged regions of the world. The students often
experience great personal development and growth from the
experience, as well as contributing and assisting those in
need. In the past groups of students have worked in the
Philippines, India and Mexico.

Rimbrook is committed to the full development
of students during their university life. To facilitate
this training, Rimbrook organises a series of informal
lectures and courses which provide guidelines and
suggestions for the professional development of students.
Toastmasters professionals and speakers from recruitment
companies are invited annually to the College.
Rimbrook has a chapel of its own
and a series of religious activities are offered for those
who wish to deepen in their understanding of the Christian
faith. Daily Mass and weekly talks by the Chaplain are
offered for those interested. All these activities are
entrusted to Opus Dei, a personal Prelature of the
Catholic Church.
